The Pacific Polytech Institutions in Fiji have offered opportunities to everyone eager to learn short courses and trades for jobs and they plan to take Certificate 4 level to the community and allow them to experience the benefits that those fortunate ones benefited from.

Pacific Polytech Founding Director, Peni Taoi told fijivillage News the institution offers short courses or micro-qualifications that are below 40 credit points.

Taoi says they also have National Qualifications, which are all higher education approved for Pacific Polytech to offer access and a good example is the one that was recently opened in Bua.

He also says one of his initiatives is to take the classroom to the workplace and do more on the hands training because the real TVET is a hands-on approach.

The Director says TVET also provides many opportunities for everyone and does not limit anyone from pursuing their careers in trades and he also advises young children and youths to refrain from using drugs and to pursue education through trade courses.

He further says that as training providers, they need to re-evaluate and redesign their programs to be more valuable for both the students and the employers, as well as for the whole nation.

He is advising parents to support their children in pursuing careers and improving their futures.

He adds that Fiji provides quality tradespeople, and as the training provider, he trains people for the local market, however, those who choose to move out also benefit from their choices.

Meanwhile, the enrollment will be closed tomorrow.
