The Fiji Men's Futsal Soccer team in New Caledonia will have to wait for the medical test results of the Tonga Futsal team players who are suspected to have measles before they can be allowed to return to Fiji.
Fiji FA has confirmed the medical report for the Tonga Futsal team will be out by this afternoon which will decide when Fiji will be allowed to return.
Fiji faced off with Tonga in their second pool match of the OFC Futsal Championship.
The Fijian community in New Caledonia has been assisting the players with meals today.
The Ministry of Health has said that measles is rare in Fiji however outbreaks around the world, including in neighbouring countries, puts us at risk of having travel-related cases of measles.
The Health Ministry says they are closely monitoring the outbreaks of measles in the region - first the ongoing New Zealand outbreak followed by recent outbreaks declared for Samoa and Tonga.
