Fifteen students from Wallis and Futuna High School are in Fiji for a two-week internship at Vinod Patel and Company Limited learning about Fiji’s business culture and the employment market.
While welcoming the students and two teachers, French Ambassador to Fiji, Gilles Montagnier encouraged the students to use the program as an opportunity to explore the business culture in Fiji.
Montagnier said this internship program in Fiji has demonstrated its success and it allows on hand to Wallis and Futuna students to discover the world of business in an institution with reference to Fiji.
Montagnier added that this will also promote cultural and linguistic exchanges through the Fiji National University, which has agreed to accommodate the students at its hostel.
Group leader and school board member, Soakimi Polelei said at the end of their internship, they hope that the students would have a fair idea of Fiji’s hardware industry and the role Vinod Patel plays in Fiji and the South Pacific.
This is the fourth year and the fourth group of senior business students to come for an internship program since 2011.
