Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head Coach Glen Jackson believes his side “probably should have won” their clash against the Western Force last night after a controversial forward pass in the lead-up to a decisive try was allowed during their 19-15 loss in Perth.

Jackson was visibly frustrated following the match, pointing to the pass that led to Zac Lomax crossing for the Force, saying he felt it was clearly forward.

Despite the disappointment, Jackson praised the effort shown by his side, particularly after travelling from Fiji and competing strongly against the Force in a bruising encounter.

The Drua coach also paid tribute to Kitione Salawa, who celebrated his 50th appearance for the club.

Captain Temo Mayanavanua also shared that while players may disagree with decisions, the team also had opportunities they failed to capitalise on.

Mayanavanua says the team remained motivated throughout the match, particularly for Salawa’s milestone and the return of Meli Tuni from a long-term injury.

Jackson says attention now turns to the Drua’s final match of the season in Brisbane against Reds next week.

Meanwhile, in other results, the Reds beat Moana Pasifika 33-31, while the Hurricanes defeated the Highlanders 45-28.
