Get ready to dig much deeper in your pockets as there is a significant increase in fuel prices from tomorrow while there is some relief as there is a significant decrease in gas prices.

The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced that unleaded will cost you $3.44 per litre compared to $3.08 per litre, diesel goes up by 11 cents to $3.14, kerosene goes up by 16 cents to $2.50 per litre while premix goes up to $3.24 per litre.

You will pay less for cooking gas from tomorrow as a 4.5 kg cylinder of gas will cost you $16.71 compared to $17.74 while a 12kg cylinder has gone down by $3 to $44.56.

Bulk Gas goes down to $3.44 while Autogas reduces to $2.30.

Cooking gas and kerosene are VAT exempt.

FCCC says the fuel price in Fiji is impacted by movement in the Means of Platts Singapore (MOPS), international freight rates and foreign exchange rates.

The changes in fuel price for July 2022 are due to unfavourable movements in international market prices for unleaded, premix, diesel and kerosene.

It says an unfavourable movement was also noted in international freight rates for all refined fuel products and the US Dollar strengthened against the Fijian dollar on all refined fuel products based on May 2022 imports.

The fuel and gas prices had changed on the 1st of this month and this change is happening after a monthly assessment by FCCC.
