Plans are afoot for possible strike action if the grievances of the staff association of the University of the South Pacific are not resolved.

fijivillage News has been reliably informed that there have staff related disagreements and disputes, and the association has had meetings regarding the matter.

When contacted by fijivillage News on whether there is a plan to go on strike, President of The Association of USP Staff, Elizabeth Fong says the association comprising academic and professional staff has informed the University of its intention to take action subject to the satisfactory settlement of its Log Of Claims.

We are currently trying to get further comments on the Log Of Claims and the issues concerned.

We have also sent questions to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Pal Ahluwalia.
