Cast member and one of the filmmakers of the American romantic comedy-drama film Anora, Alex Coco has encouraged for more independent filmmakers in his acceptance speech after the cast and filmmakers of Anora won the coveted award for Best Picture during the Oscars.

Coco says they made the movie independently and says if anyone is trying to make independent films, they have to continue to do it and not stop.

He says the movie industry needs more independent filmmakers and their achievement today is proof.

Coco, Samantha Quan and Sean Baker accepted the award on the film's behalf.

Quan, in her acceptance speech, says they made this movie with very little money, but all of their hearts.

She encourages all the dreamers and young filmmakers out there to tell the stories they want to tell and the stories that move them, and they will never regret it.
