The Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit is now investigating 24 cases of unexplained wealth in the country.
Director Razim Buksh said these cases are dating back to the second half of this year.
He said there has been a proposal to include and form a task force to handle all the unexplained wealth cases.
Buksh said this task force will include members from the Financial Intelligence Unit, forensic investigators from the Fiji Police Force, FICAC and Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority to look into each case.
He said they have shared some of the indicators with the Fiji Institute of Accountants Forum and other relevant stakeholders.
Buksh said this will ensure they are also aware what constitutes unexplained wealth, how they proceed with complaining or people informing the Intelligence Unit and other authorities about the people who have unexplained wealth and how best they can deal with unexplained wealth cases.
