Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama maintains that the PACER trade discussions cannot be productive and progressive if the Pacific Islands Forum continues to exclude Fiji from the discussions.
Commodore Bainimarama said the matter needs to be understood that Fiji has to be part of the discussions.
Commodore Bainimarama said it is now clear that the international bodies like the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the European Union are softening their approach towards Fiji compared to previous years.
He said the organizations are now willing to engage with Fiji and listen to the government on the planned reforms.
Bainimarama also said that it is clear that there is better understanding on the planned reforms and he also highlighted the message sent from the US President Barack Obama to Fiji for the Fiji Day celebrations.
