The Prime suspect allegedly involved in the robbery of $50,000 of the new $100 bills appeared in court this afternoon.

Viliame Cama who is alleged to have been involved in the robbery appeared before Magistrate Yohan Liyange this afternoon where DPP lawyer Nancy Tikoisuva filed for a motion for Cama to be brought to court on Friday where his charges are expected to be laid.

Tikoisuva informed the court that time has been taken for charges to be laid against Cama as he was found in Labasa traveling to Savusavu where he was arrested and transported back to Suva.

She added the investigation took a little longer as he had to be held under a warrant and also highlighted that Cama was assisting in the recovery of the new notes as dissemination of the notes was located as far as Koro Island.

She also informed the court that police officers will be going to Koro Island for investigations.

Magistrate Liyange has ordered 48 hours for the investigation to be completed before the release of the new notes and Cama to be produced in court on Wednesday.

The new notes are expected to be released on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, four men charged with receiving stolen property and a mother of three charged with giving false information were today refused bail by the Suva Magistrate Court.

Security Officers Michael Christopher, Sunila Gerua, Vikash Prasad, Eferome Caketi and Vasemaca Senilagakali appeared before Magistrate Yohan Liyange.

DPP lawyer Nancy Tikoisuva objected to bail as a large sum of money has been recovered and proper bail applications are to be filed.

The five are expected to appear in court again this Friday.

So far close to $44,000 has been recovered.
