Any student or staff found smoking in any Fiji National University premises now faces a spot fine of 200 dollars.
Acting FNU Vice Chancellor, Dr Mahendra Reddy has announced this during the Declaration of the University as a Tobacco Free University.
He said that starting today, the smoking zone in the 31 FNU locations around the country is not applicable as awareness kicks off.
There are 20,000 students studying at the Fiji National University.
