1,338 proposed polling venues have been identified by the Elections Office for the September 17th General Elections.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem yesterday highlighted that the Elections Office has now compiled the provisional list of polling venues around the country as at 30th April.
He added for the Central Division there will be 365 polling venues, Western Division will have 478, Northern 321 and Eastern Division will have 174 polling venues.
Saneem said most of the venues were used as polling stations in the last elections in 2006.
He said the list of proposed polling venues will be published tomorrow and will also be posted in the Elections Office website.
Meanwhile Deputy Supervisor of Elections, Michael Clancy and Director of Operations, Robin Boyd arrived in the country earlier this week.
Saneem said they are experienced elections officials from Australia who are now assisting the Elections Office to prepare for the elections.
555,000 people have registered to vote so far.
