Click Pacific awarded FIFA World Cup rights

A new entrant in PNG’s television market has been awarded the Pacific Islands FIFA rights including next year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Click Pacific Limited was awarded sole TV rights to FIFA TV content between December 2013 and July 2014 by rights holder MP&Silva.

Click Pacific Limited was formed in February 2013 and is the brainchild of PNG investors along with Mai TV Fiji founder and Click Pacific Managing Director Richard Broadbridge.

Click Pacific has been granted the right to sublicense and broadcast several FIFA events in 14 Pacific Island territories.

These include the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Tahiti this December, under 17 World Cup, under 17 Women’s World Cup, under 20 Women’s World Cup and the largest event on earth, the FIFA World Cup next June.

Click Pacific has not started operations in PNG.
