Truck driver back in Police custody

A 35-year-old driver is back in police custody today following an accident on Sunday which led to the death of a 17-year-old.

The deceased was a passenger in the vehicle driven by the 35-year-old and following the accident was admitted in the Intensive Care Unit until she passed away yesterday.

According to Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro, the driver was earlier charged with dangerous driving occasioning actual bodily harm and also failure to undergo breath analysis in accordance with the direction of a police officer.

Naisoro added following the death of the 17-year-old, the driver  is now back in police custody for interrogation as investigating officers also await the outcome of today’s post mortem.
