FRCA calls for accurate information

FRCA calls for accurate information

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority is having some issues with some employers who are submitting inaccurate information of their employees.

This has resulted in the PAYE Final Withholding Tax system rejecting their Electronic Monthly Summary.

CEO Jitoko Tikolevu said one wrong information will result in their system rejecting the whole summary filed by an employer.

He said some employers are submitting incorrect Tax Identification Numbers of employees and because their system is designed to minimise human intervention, the whole EMS file is rejected.

Tikolevu said employers need to be aware that this new system is here to stay and they must accept and embrace the change.

He added that if employers can submit accurate information to banks to ensure their employees are paid every week or fortnight, they should exercise the same with FRCA every month.

He has stressed that FRCA is ready to assist any employer that is facing issues or challenges but after April 30th penalties will be waived only for deserving cases.
