Flood waters enter about 20 homes at Navitoko Sawani

Flood waters have entered about twenty homes at Navitoko Sawani as police team have managed to help residents to higher ground.
A resident Subhash Chandra said he has moved to top floor of his house as the bottom level is now under 4 feet of water.
He added that a man is stuck in a huge tree near the Sawani river and is shouting for help.
He said the police team went to search for him but could not find him in the darkness.
Another Sawani resident, Avinesh Kumar said his family have moved into rooms on a higher floor along with his older brother, mother as flood waters have entered the bottom flat.
They have managed to move all their personal belongings to higher ground in the afternoon.
The landslide at Navesi is still being cleared this hour by the Fiji Roads Authority contractor Fulton Hogan.
The Lami Police Station confirmed that the road is only partially open to traffic.
The entire road may not fully open until tomorrow.
