The Methodist Church has set its focus on church ministers to refrain from smoking and drinking excessive kava for the next three years.
While speaking during the opening of the Methodist Church conference, the church president Reverend Dr Tuikilakila Waqairatu said church ministers will be disciplined if they are not looking presentable.
Reverend Dr Waqairatu said smoking and excessive kava drinking also affects their work.
He also stressed that drinking kava at the church minister's residence will no longer be allowed and they should only have a few bowls during traditional ceremonies and church functions.
Fijivillage spoke to some of the church ministers after the statement by the Church President.
Meanwhile Waqairatu has been awarded a Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Vision University in USA this morning.
The conference continues at Centenary Church.
