The people of Cakaudrove need to work together with government in order to move forward.
That was the message of the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Fijian Affairs, Colonel Apakuki Kurusiga as he opened the Cakaudrove Provincial Council Meeting in Yaroi village, in Savusavu this morning.
According to Provincial Chairman Emitai Boladuadua, Colonel Kurusiga stressed that a new change that needed to be looked at was the proposed village bylaws and the need to register the village heads.
An interesting session tomorrow would be the discussion of the village bylaws by the various Mata-Ni-Tikina.
Meanwhile, the fifteen tikinas in Cakaudrove have shown their support to the government.
Yaroi Village headman, Ratu Isimeli Tabucala confirmed that a motion was filed today by the fifteen tikinas in Cakaudrove showing their support to government.
He added that the motion was brought up in their various Bose va Koro and then discussed in the Bose ni Tikina as their overall chief Tui Cakau was not present in the meeting citing personal reasons.
