With a vision to taking tourism to new heights in the country, the Fiji Visitors Bureau is undergoing a major facelift and will be re-named Tourism Fiji.
Interim Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum while making the announcement this afternoon also revealed that the operations of the Bureau will all now be centralized in Nadi.
Fiji Visitors Bureau chairman Patrick Wong said they are confident that the move will enable them to make tourism a billion dollar industry in the very near future.
Wong also revealed that a Chief Executive Officer will be appointed to lead the Bureau and a local will take up the top job in December.
Fiji Hoteliers Association President Dixon Seeto said stakeholders fully endorse the name change and the appointment of a CEO as it takes them in the right direction in marketing Fiji tourism to the world.
