Hard work pays off for Baleisomosomo

Waking up at 3 every morning for studies and training has paid off for Queen Victoria School athlete Kuliniasi Baleisomosomo after winning gold in the Sub Junior Boys Shot Put event.
This is also a new event so Baleisomosomo set a new record of 12.64 metres.
He said his everyday routine includes studying from half past 3 until 5am.
Baleisomosomo said he starts his training at 5.30am and finishes at 6am which has definitely paid off.
He will also take part in the 4x100m relay tomorrow.
Josefa Matau of Natabua High School broke the record of the boys sub junior long jump.
His record jump was 5.47 metres.
The old record was 5.35m which was set in 1988.
The 200 metres heats are currently underway.
The 4x400 metres relay heats begin at about 2.25pm today.
