The water level at the Tamavua Reservoir is improving slowly and the people of Suva who are affected should start receiving normal water supply in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Water Authority of Fiji Chief Executive Officer Opetaia Ravai said repairs have been done to the major leak in the two main supply trunks, to the Tamavua and Waila treatment plants last night.
He said this is a short term solution and the Authority is also looking at alternative options to fix the problem.
He highlighted that water trucks have been carting supply since 5 this morning to the affected areas.
