There are now over forty cases of Rubella reported with a warning now issued for young expecting mothers to be on the watch.
Director Communicable Diseases Dr Mike Kama said that over the weekend two fresh cases were reported bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 49.
He said majority of the cases were for those between the ages of 19-30 years and though it is not a serious illness for many, pregnant women need to be careful as it affects unborn babies.
The cases have been reported mainly in the Central Division however cases are being reported in Korovou, Ba and Nausori.
