With only 6,150 people remaining in 172 evacuation centers around the country the government has assured that they are doing all they can for the evacuees to return home before Christmas.
DISMAC Director Manasa Tagicakibau said assessments are expected to be completed next week and they are closely monitoring every evacuations centre around the country.
Tagicakibau added that they have deactivated all evacuation centers in the eastern division while only two remain in the Northern Division.
According to Tagicakibau three ships left yesterday with relief supplies to the Yasawa Islands.
Cleaning up continues in Lautoka, Nadi, Ba and Tavua.
