Assessments underway on evacuees’ homes

With more than 11,700 people remaining in evacuation centers nationwide, assessments are now underway on the damage sustained on the evacuees’ homes.

DISMAC Director Manasa Tagicakibau said 15 teams will join the officials in the west today to assist in verifying the extent of damage sustained.

Tagicakibau said it is only those with really devastated homes that will remain in the centers.
