Fijian Rugby League players playing overseas will now be available to represent Fiji in next year’s Rugby League World cup.
FNRL General Manager Tomy Finau said the proposal has been approved but they are still awaiting formal notification from the Rugby League International Federation Board.
Finau added this would be a major boost to Fiji as they are looking to select top NRL players for the world Cup.
So far overseas players that have shown interest to join the Fiji Bati next year are Petero Civoniceva, Lote Tuqiri, Jarryd Hayne, Sisa Waqa, John Sutton, Akuila Uate, Taqele Naiyaravaro and Marika Koroibete.
Meanwhile, the trials for the Bati elite squad will be on the 26th of January next year.
