Although the Vanuatu Prime Minister, Edward Natapei cancelled the planned MSG Plus meeting in Fiji this week, there is now confirmation that Vanuatu's Foreign Minister will be attending the Engaging with the Pacific meeting in Natadola later this week.

Vanuatu's Joe Natuman will join Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Doctor Derek Sikua and Kiribati President Anote Tong.

Seven other island nations are also attending the meeting.

Fiji's Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Solo Mara said he can only confirm that a Vanuatu representative is attending the meeting.

Meanwhile Vanuatu freelance political journalist, Godwin Ligo has told Radio NZ that Natapei=s move caused an outcry among opposition politicians and the public, after he cancelled the planned MSG Plus.
