Close to $30 million dollars has been injected to improve facilities at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
Health Minister, Dr Neil Sharma says some of the improvement will include modification of the East Wing and also 200 beds for the maternity units, delivery suites and operating theatres which will also be commissioned this year.
Dr Sharma says they are also focusing on carrying out a facelift of nursing stations, health centres and sub-divisional hospitals.
He says the ministry also has plans to practice better procurement methods in the pharmaceutical areas.
Meanwhile these renovations are part of Government’s plan to upgrade infrastructure and enhance human resources.
