Couple in Labasa terrified with strong wind and heavy rainfall

A couple of Papalagi, Labasa, has not been able to sleep from last night as they have been terrified of the sound of strong winds and heavy rainfall.

Lata Kumar told Fijivillage that strong winds started around 10pm however at 4.30am, the wind speed intensified.

Kumar said that she had never experienced this in her life and they are praying that the wind dies soon.
 
Meanwhile, a resident in Nasorowaqa in Bua assisted a few people out of their house last night to take them to a different location due to the structural strength of the home. 

Rahmat Shah said that the winds were very strong and they assisted a few widows and elderly to secure their homes. 

He added that after daylight they will be able to see the damages.

Residents of Sawani in Bua have started to experience strong winds and rain.

Villager Laite Caudre said that most of the villagers have been sheltering at the community hall from yesterday.
