The Methodist Church of Fiji said it is trying to go beyond the differences in society and find ways in which everyone can work together.
As we approach the Easter weekend, Methodist Communications Secretary, Reverend James Bhagwan said each of us in Fiji have important faith journeys although we may be different in many respects.
He said one of the things they are encouraging is combined multi cultural and multi ethnic worship services on a regular basis as a way to create greater understanding in fellowship amongst the different circuits and divisions within the church.
Reverend Bhagwan said it is important that they work on unity in the Christian community before they start fellowship and unity with other religious groups.
He said the church has been observing the season of lent since Ash Wednesday which is six weeks of reflection on their own personal spiritual journey.
He added the whole week is an important time for Christians in Fiji and also for Methodist Church in Fiji as church services are being held during the day and evenings leading up to Good Friday and Easter Sunday as they celebrate the wonderful resurrection of Jesus Christ.
