Two men who were taken in for questioning in relation to alleged murder of a 49-year-old carpenter in Nawaicoba, Nadi have been questioned and released by police.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said the two were released yesterday while four men are still being questioned.

The man was a victim of an alleged serious assault case and died at the Lautoka Hospital on Tuesday night.

The initial report of assault was reported at the Nadi Police Station when the victim was found lying injured at his house by his brother.

According to a Police report, it is alleged he was assaulted after being accused of practicing witchcraft.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said they are investigating to ascertain this allegation as this was part of the initial report made to Police.

Meanwhile, Police have stressed that the suspects should have reported the matter to police of alleged witchcraft rather than taking the matter into their own hands.

A post mortem will be conducted soon.
