Over 1,000 scholarships are now on offer for students who want to pursue their studies in technical vocational education.
FNU’s Vice Chancellor, Dr Ganesh Chand said students who have passed the Fiji School Leaving Certificate examination can apply for the scholarship at the Fiji National University.
The scholarship will cover for tuition fees.
The students can apply for a scholarship for programmes like automotive and mechanical engineering, maritime studies, building and civil engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, hospitality training and graphic arts.
The Government allocated $5 million in the 2013 National budget for a new scholarship program to cover tuition fees for more than 1,000 students to undertake vocational courses in FNU, to help them acquire specialised trade skills.
Chand said this will continue this year.
