One of the highlights of this year's Coca Cola Games is the introduction of two new events.
Chief organizer Vuli Waqa said they have decided to introduce the shot put event in the sub junior girls and boys grades.
Waqa added that this year's games is probably the biggest with about 2800 athletes from over 70 secondary schools around the country taking part.
This is due to the new qualifying standards where not only the first two finishers in every event from all zones make it to the Coca Cola Games but all athletes that meet the qualifying time, distance or height are now eligible to take part.
Waqa said in some cases six athletes qualified from one zone for the same event.
Tickets are already on sale at the games office at McGregor Road in Suva.
Grandstand tickets are $30 for both days, concrete seating on the embankment is $12 a day while grass seating is $10 a day.
Meanwhile, the Coca Cola Games torch is at Ahmadiya Muslim College in Dreketi.
The Coca Cola Games starts next Friday at the ANZ Stadium.
