“Not everyone has the talent to earn money through sports.”
Those were the words of Semi Tanikili, the Youth Coordinator of the Nadroga/Navosa Province, as they look for alternative ways to work with the youths in creating income generating projects.
Tanikili said they have visited unemployed youths in all villages in the province to get them to register so they can be assisted if they want to work on a project in their village.
The workshops that were conducted include managing small canteens in the village, bee farming, dairy farming, how to deal with handicraft and tourism.
This year a total of 17 villages will have youth projects.
Tanikili said that they are also gearing up for their big fundraising which will be held next month at Lawaqa Park.
