Racing Metro’s Virimi Vakatawa has not hidden the fact that he wants to don the French jersey next year.
From the hills of Naitasiri to the foot of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, former Nasinu Secondary School student Vakatawa is quickly adapting to the rugby environment in France.
Vakatawa was recruited by Racing Metro in France through former Flying Fijian wing Isireli Bobo and has become one of the top 14 players so far this season.
Should Vakatawa get the nod to don the French jersey, he will be creating history by being the first Fijian rugby player to ever play for France.
