Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry said he will contest the planned 2014 general elections if the party wants him to stand again.
Chaudhry has won his seat since the 1987 elections and even led the FLP coalition to win the elections in 1999 when he was appointed Fiji’s Prime Minister.
Chaudhry has told Pacific Beat that he may contest again but it all depends on the FLP.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama is expected to announce the composition of a new Constitution Commission later this month.
Commodore Bainimarama will also provide details regarding the timeframe and methodology of the constitution consultation process.
CODE Inc from Canada will carry out the electronic voter registration in Fiji.
They are expected to be in the country next month.
