We are not here to mourn but here to celebrate.
That was stressed by the Police Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua who was chief guest at the Remembrance Day celebrations for the Western division in Lautoka this morning
Naivalurua told the families and friends attending the service that they are celebrating the achievements and good deeds of those who sacrificed for our freedom.
The Police Commissioner said that they should encourage each other that through the legacy of those who have gone before them they can continue the good fight that they have fought.
The memorial services with the theme “We shall remember them” is to pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice during the 1st and 2nd World Wars, those involved in the many conflicts worldwide since 1945 and those fighting for our peace and freedom today.
