Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said getting permits from the Police for public meetings or gathering is not a restriction.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the Public Order Amendment Decree clearly deals with racial and religious vilification and economic sabotage.
He said those that want to discuss about their submissions on the new constitution will definitely not be stopped from having meetings.
Sayed-Khaiyum said some who are complaining about getting permits were involved in using the race card to secure votes in the past.
Consultations on the new constitution is expected to start from next month.
