The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola will be meeting his counterpart from New Zealand, Minister Murray McCully in Suva today.
During his stay, McCully will also meet other ministers, including the Attorney-General and Minister for Elections, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and the Minister for Agriculture, Inia Seruiratu.
The visit provides an opportunity to discuss bilateral issues concerning the two countries and also regional and global issues.
One of the key issues that maybe discussed is Fiji’s preparations for democratic elections later this year.
This visit by McCully follows the announcement by Australia and New Zealand on the lifting of all sanctions against Fiji on the 31st of last month.
This is the second time McCully has visited Fiji this year.
He was in Fiji in January as the Chair and part of the Ministerial Contact Group of the Pacific Islands Forum.
Murray McCully will be in Fiji for two days.
