There will be no change that will favor the Methodist Church of Fiji executives if they say that a huge number of people oppose the draft People's Charter.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama remained adamant that Methodist Church General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu is just using intimidating tactics to ensure that members of their congregation support their moves.
Commodore Bainimarama also said he only wants support for the Charter, nothing else.
Bainimarama said for too long the Methodist Church of Fiji and the Great Council of Chiefs (GCC) has been politicized by ethno-nationalists and this needs to stop.
Close to 50,000 members of the Methodist Church of Fiji have shown their support to the church stance in opposing the draft People Charter according to the Church executives.
General Secretary Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu said when the Church's standing committee met last Friday the support from church members had been overwhelming with 31 divisions already given in their forms while they are still waiting for the other 21 divisions.
