Voter registration centers in the urban areas will reopen on the 10th of this month while rural centers reopen on the 26th of this month.
Making the announcement this afternoon Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the centers will close on the 7th of next month while the rural centers will only be open for two weeks.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the fundamental reason for reopening these centers is to allow for people who have not registered to register and also for those that have registered to be able to just check their details.
According to Sayed-Khaiyum 488,000 people have so far registered to vote with at least 140,000 people left to register.
