Thorough investigation was conducted by the Ministry of Education’s examination office, after irregularities were found in the 11 Labasa Sangam College students’ exam papers according to Permanent Secretary Dr. Brij Lal.
He said standard procedure has been followed in every step of the investigation and the findings have been conclusive.
Dr Lal said a result based on existing examination rules and policy, the students who have been involved have been disqualified hence the zero mark for Biology.
He added the malpractice case at Labasa Sangam College is one of the seven cases investigated this year by the Ministry of Education.
Meanwhile, a Labasa Sangam College parent Rajesh Lal said that this is not the first time this has happened as in 2010 some of the student's were given zero in their physics paper after which the principal wrote to the Ministry of Education where some of the students were then given their proper marks.
