The President of the Methodist Church Reverend Tuikilakila Waqairatu has now refused to make any comments on a sermon he delivered to the Indian Methodist Circuit at the Dudley Church in Toorak.
He told us this morning that he will make a statement in relation to comments he made during his sermon yesterday where he reiterated his support for a Christian state.
Some members of the church contacted Fijivillage and raised concern on how Reverend Waqairatu used the pulpit to push through his political views on a Christian State.
Reverend Waqairatu also spoke about the previous constitutions as he stressed from the pulpit the need for a Christian State.
The government has already set the non-negotiable that Fiji will be a secular state and there will be no special preference for any religion.
