Police have managed to arrest the driver of the vehicle who allegedly assisted 36-year-old prisoner Deshwar Dutt to escape from the Suva Corrections Centre on Sunday.

Dutt was recaptured at Shirley Park in Lautoka yesterday afternoon.

Assistant Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said they are also expected to arrest a few people soon who allegedly harbored Dutt.

Meanwhile, Police have also revealed that other prisoners, Kunal Edwin Prasad, Vimlesh Dayal and Viliame Vunisiga cut the mesh wire and got out of the Yaka Dome with Dutt on Sunday.

Dutt and Prasad managed to climb the concrete wall and jumped out of the Prison Complex while Dayal and Vunisiga could not climb the wall and were arrested inside the complex.

Prasad, Dayal and Vunisiga are charged with damaging property and escaping from lawful custody.
