The Rotary Club of Fiji donated 200 dignity kits to DISMAC this morning.
The kits which include clothes, toiletries and other basic items were purchased through a $100,000 grant provided to Rotary Fiji following assessments conducted by a member of USAID's Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance.
The funds also supported Rotary Fiji's distribution of emergency kits in the Yasawas, Mamanucas, and other areas of the Western District.
Future assistance funded through the grant will help in the reconstruction of damaged homes.
The U.S. Ambassador to Fiji Frankie Reed said that the United States will remain committed to helping those affected by Tropical Cyclone Evan.
Ambassador Reed previously authorized $50,000 to be provided to the Fiji Red Cross Society in order to provide assistance immediately following the cyclone.
