The Water Authority of Fiji will be receiving 15,000 new water meters at the cost of over $1 million by the end of this year.
Authority has confirmed that there are more than 20,000 meters nationwide that needs to be changed.
It will take the Authority more than 4 months to replace the 15,000 meters nationwide.
Meanwhile, before the old meters get replaced by the new meters Authority will be taking their readings by estimation based on customers water consumption from the last six months.
People who have water meters that are 15 years old do not have to pay for its replacement.
