Good news for the 400 plus workers of Fiji Water and for the country as a whole as Fiji Water has decided to restart its operations in Fiji.
In a statement issued from the company's headquarters in Los Angeles late last night, Fiji Water said following discussions yesterday with Fijian officials, Fiji Water will reopen its bottling plant effective this morning at its regular start up time at 8am.
Fiji Water also said through their discussions, they have also agreed to comply with water tax law and will pay the Water Resource Tax of 15 cents for every litre extracted by the company.
The US company stated that moving forward, Fiji Water is committed to working with the Fiji government, and remains dedicated to helping the country's economy and it's people.
Speaking to Fijivillage after the announcement last night, Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said it is great news that Fiji Water has decided to restart operations and comply with the water tax law.
