Two women’s resource centers are ready to be opened in Buretu Village, Tailevu and Nasalia, Naitasiri.
This is a part of the four resource centers planned to be opened in Fiji this year.
The Social Welfare, Women and Poverty Alleviation ministry received an allocation of $96,000 in their 2012 budget to build four women resource centers.
Minister Dr. Jiko Luveni said building materials have been sent to Gau and Bua to set up remaining two centers there and upon its completion the ministry will meet its target.
The Buretu resource center will officially be opened on the 14th of November.
The remaining centers will open before the end of the year.
The Social welfare Ministry received a allocation of $39 million in this year’s budget which is an increase of $2 million compared to last year.
$38 million has been utilized for welfare assistance while the remaining is being utilized for women based projects.
