Robber Asks For Leniency
A 25 year old unemployed man of Raiwai charged with attempted burglary and damaging property asked the court for leniency and to give him a suspended sentence.

The court heard that on 24th February last year, Noa Maya and two others attempted to break into the house of a Manoj Kumar at Nailuva Road and broke quarter glass of a private car which was parked inside Kumar's compound.

Kumar was inside the house when Maya and others entered his compound and were trying to open the main door of the house when Kumar was alarmed and he rang the Raiwaqa Police Post.

Maya and others were trying to escape however a police officer chased Maya and arrested him.

Maya who has seven previous convictions has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on 6th August.
