Mahendra Patel update expected next week in court
An update is expected to be provided to the Suva High Court next year in relation to the medical status of the former chairman of Post Fiji Mahendra Patel.

Patel along with Peni Mau and Dhirendra Pratap are charged with two counts of abuse of office, one count of extortion, one aiding and abetting and one false certificate by public office.

Patel’s lawyer Hamendra Nagin informed the court today the doctor overseeing Patel will be issuing a status update in February next year.

FICAC legal officer Rosemary Drau informed the court that the submissions on trial in Absentia has been filed however they will wait for the medical update.

The case will be called on 28th February next year.
