Alakija to compete in Olympics
Danielle Alakija has been given the green light to represent Fiji Athletics to the London Olympics next month in the 400 meters open event.

Alakija ran a time of 55.00 seconds on her last trial while Miriama Senokonoko ran a time of 59.10 seconds.

The current world record is 47.60 seconds.

Athletics Fiji secretary Roy Ravana Senior said Alakija has come across the guidance of great athletes and she has earned her place in the Olympics.
